Passing the scrutineer: Part 1

By Will North | November 21st, 2013 | Department: | Categories: News

After fitting all of our food into the Blue Steel we went to join the other crews in the Blue Marlin for a pizza and a couple of well deserved beers.

We may have had one too many but we cracked on and past our pre-race scrutineer. This was a check of all of our kit to make sure it was sea worthy for the race; there are still a few small things that we need to sort out but other than that everything is going well.

We are getting on really well here and are fully prepared for what is ahead of us. We are getting on really well with the other crews; they’re all really helpful and willing to share ideas and tips to help each other. There’s a true sense of camaraderie here; whether that will continue throughout the race is yet to be seen! Dan and I are working really well together and hopefully we will be able to get the boat out on the water tomorrow, the next time it comes out after that we will be headed towards Antigua over the vast expanse of the Atlantic Ocean!!
