Team Atlantic Row 2013 were very kindly invited by ‘Bolton Atlantic Challenge’, a Bolton based crew, to head up North for a spot of training and team bonding.
The boys received a fantastic reception from their soon-to-be-rivals, who were just as keen as Dan & Will to share some fundraising, training and sponsorship ideas.
The boys were let loose on Bolton Atlantic’s 4 man boat for the weekend, on which numerous hours were spent navigating it back and forth across the reservoir. Training certainly seems to be going well as Atlantic Row 2013 smashed the current speed record of 4.3 knots across the reservoir, a record previously held, and more importantly lost, by the Bolton based team. Welcome to the gun show lads!
As well as other crews, the guys also met Jim MacDonald (the guru on watermakers), Ian Couch (Ocean Rower Extraordinaire) and Nikki Holter from Atlantic Campaigns, who are responsible for organising the race. It was great for the boys to meet all these important faces and it was certainly a very successful weekend. Thank you Bolton Atlantic Challenge for a fantastic weekend!
