Shoes: The correct footwear is a must, make sure that the shoes are biomechanically correct for you. At Simply Sports we will carry out a comprehensive assessment of your needs and make sure you get the correct shoes for your running style.

Socks: Twin skin socks are the norm, these help make sure that you will not get any blisters and your feet will remain comfortable throughout your run.

Shorts/leggings: Proper running bottoms are designed to help you move freely without chafing and have good wicking properties to help keep you dry.

Top: A high wicking top is important, make sure the fit is comfortable. For ladies a proper running bra is an essential piece of kit, the Shockabsorber Run Bra is the market leader.

Jacket: These should be lightweight and breathable. Most running jackets are not totally waterproof but they are designed to keep the worst of the weather out, especially when there is a cold wind.

Hats and gloves: Obviously these are only needed when it’s cold or if you have poor circulation, if you need them then wear them, there are no marks for being macho.

Hydration and carry packs: Having a waist pack, armpocket or backpack makes sense because when you need hydration, food or your music you need it close at hand. Find the most comfortable accessory by trying them on instore, Simply Sports have a great range of accessories.
