The best half marathon in Surrey returns
13.1 miles

The award winning Intersport Run Reigate Half Marathon will take place at 9:15am on Sunday 18th September 2016.
Set over a fully closed route, the single-lap course takes in a combination of beautiful rural Surrey countryside and country lanes; a picturesque treat for runners made even more enjoyable by the communities of local supporters along the route.

About the race

Silver winner for the UK’s best half marathon in the 2015 Running awards, this race will once again provide a high quality runner experience with a huge bag drop, a warm-up led by British Military Fitness, staggered start times (with runners separated according to their estimated finish times), en-route toilets, live music and regular water stations (offering bottled water).  Not forgetting a collectable 2016 technical t-shirt, bespoke medal and banana for every finisher.

What we’ll give you – each runner will receive:

  • A quality medal for all finishers
  • A 2016 collectable technical T-shirt
  • Chip timing
  • Bag storage
  • Water stations (at regular 3 mile intervals)
  • A pre-race warm-up with British Military Fitness
  • The Xempo pacing team (covering: sub 1:30 / sub 1:40 / sub 1:50 / sub 2:00 / sub 2:10 and sub 2:20 finish times)
  • First aid stations in the event village and throughout the race
  • Post-race refreshments
  • Fantastic scenery and a memorable experience

The participant’s Event Village will once again provide a place for runners to purchase and sample sports nutrition, liaise with the organisers and meet the event’s charity partners organisers to find out more about their vital work in the local community.

For a closer look at the 2016 route, click the map below.   Please note that we have made some small improvements and adjustments to both the half marathon and 10K routes this year.  Only the latter part of the 2015 route is changing, mainly due to the extensive feedback we received last year from our runners and to requirements from Surrey County Council in the wake of the planned rebuild of Flanchford Bridge this summer.

This year, we will not be running through Littleton Manor Equestrian Centre or up Littleton Lane (aka BOSH Hill), instead runners will continue via Sandcross Lane, the very scenic (and downhill) Whitehall Lane, joining Clayhall Lane before proceeding onto Park Lane again towards the finish.  This last section still involves a short sharp hill however although short and sharp, it’s fully surfaced and regarded by most to being a lot kinder than last year’s section.

You can read more about the route in our blog, including a review by Brighton Marathon pace runner Daren Elliot.
