Join our happy crew….behind the scenes we’re busy putting together a huge 300+ Racemaker team to look after runners and spectators in Priory Park and along both routes; volunteering is an extremely rewarding experience and we’d love you to get involved.
We need hundreds of volunteers to help make this event something really special and there are LOTS of opportunities from setting up the event village on Saturday to looking after runners in the park on race morning, at the bag drop, information point and finish line handing out medals, finisher t-shirts and water.
Racemakers also play an integral role along both routes motivating runners, providing clear direction and safety messages, handing out water and plenty more!
As a community-focused event we are proudly supporting 8 local charities for 2018:
- The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity in partnership with George and the Giant Pledge
- The Children’s Trust
- The Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance
- Samaritans of East Surrey
- The Patrick Evans Foundation
- St Catherine’s Hospice
- Stripey Stork
- YMCA East Surrey
If you haven’t done it before please think about volunteering. Not only will you get the feel-good factor from supporting four local charirities, volunteering is also a great opportunity to feel part of the event and meet like-minded people.
And as our way of saying thank you for helping us create such a great race experience we’ll provide you with the following:
- Free breakfast
- A quality ‘Racemaker’ t-shirt
- A free race place for 2019
We would also love to hear from local sports clubs, community groups, Scouts, charities, schools and other organisations who can supply a team of Racemakers to help us. In return, we will help you promote your organisation to the runners and their supporters leading up to, on race day and afterwards.
We encourage families and friends, sports and community groups, musicians, bands and artists to line the route and to provide as much support as you can muster. Please get involved, the more noise the better! Please complete the contact form above if you think you can help. Remember please that although we’d love your help, you need to be at least 16 years old.
