Recap From our Data Science meetup

Blog | 14 May, 2018

We were proud to host the Sussex Data Science Meetup in our Brighton office.

Despite the meet-up falling on one of the hottest days of the year so far, we had over 50 attendees ditch Brighton beach for the first Data Science event that Jellyfish has hosted.

Our Global Head of Data, James Parker spoke on how we use Datasets at Jellyfish followed by an insightful presentation by Dr Philip Rooney and Dr Peter Hurley on Machine Learning and its practical uses.

Colin Hayhurst, organiser of the Sussex Data Science Meetup and Innovation Partnership Fellow at University of Sussex, had these kind words about the event:

"Many thanks for hosting the Meetup last night. Everything worked perfectly thanks to you all, and it is an excellent venue. We had a great turnout despite the weather and I'm having lots of positive feedback about the meeting. We certainly succeeded in bringing a lot of interesting people together for the first time, raising awareness about Data Science and Jellyfish.

Thanks again from myself and the group."

A big shout out to Matt Nottage for co-arranging the meet up. Also involved from the Jellyfish side: Ndeshi Jackson, Chris Howarth, Alison Gray, Philip Lusher and Imran Perveez.
